Instead of the classic Monopoly board game, which is based in Atlantic City, this version from the Usaopoly brand starts with locations you know from Schitt’s Creek. Now you can tour the locations of your favorite TV show.

In this game, you can join the Rose family as they go on an opportunistic adventure and buy, sell or trade popular locations you know from the show, including The Rosebud Motel, Bob’s Garage, Herb Ertlinger Winery, Town Hall, Cafe Tropical, Mutt’s Barn, and more.

Also, you’ll need a game piece to move around the board; these pieces are also connected to the show. Those tokens are Bébé Crow, David’s Sunglasses, Patrick’s Guitar, Rosebud Motel Key, Ted the Turtle, and Moira’s Wig. All the players will place their tokens on the GO space.

4-Alexis’s Bicycle, Roland’s Truck, The Rose Family Car, and Ted’s Motorcycle replace the traditional railroad spaces

Houses and hotels are renamed Improvements and Renovations, respectively. Game board spaces and corresponding Title Deed cards feature locations from Schitt’s Creek. All property values are the same as in the original game.

The Bank

The package is enormous. No doubt about that. When you first open it, you’ll also probably wonder if you should just return it because a lot of elements will seem confusing. However, once you get into the nitty-gritty of how all the elements come together, you’ll find it quite exciting to work your way across the game. Here’s a breakdown of all that the game consists of:

The Bank holds Deeds not owned by players, Pays salaries and bonuses to players, Holds all money and Title, Sell and auctions properties, Sells Improvements and Renovations,

Collects taxes and fines from players, Loans money to players who mortgage their property.

The Bank can never go broke. If the Bank runs out of money, the Banker may issue as much as needed by writing on ordinary paper.

The Banker

The players will choose one of them to take the role of the Banker. This player will take care of the Bank and will be responsible for auctions. The Banker has to keep his personal funds and properties separate from those of the Bank.

Schitts Creek Monopoly Gameplay

In each player’s turn, he must follow those steps.

1-Start by rolling the two dice.

2-Depending on the number of spaces shown on the dice, you will move your token around the board in a clockwise move

3- Depending on which space you land on, actions need to be taken, such as buying the property, or being obliged to pay rent, and more

4-If the player’s token lands on or passes over the GO space, the Banker pays that player a $200 salary.

5-If you roll a double, roll the dice again and take another move (steps 1-4). But watch out, if you ever throw doubles three times in one turn, you have to go immediately to Jail.

6-Once you are done with your moves and actions, the player on your left will start his turn

Buying Property

If you land on an unowned property, you can buy it at its printed price from the Bank. After you pay the needed price for the Bank, you will receive a Title Deed card matching this property to prove your ownership. You have to place this card face up close to you.

However, if the player does not want to buy the property, it will go up for an auction to the highest bidder. The buyer will pay the money in cash to the Bank and then receive the Title Deed card for this property.

Paying Rent

If you land on a property that is owned by another player, you will have to pay rent to him depending on the list printed on the Title Deed card.

However, if the Title Deed card is put in front of the owner faced down, this means this property is mortgaged, and you do not have to pay any rent.

You do not have to pay the rent if the owner did not ask for it before the next player throws his dice.

Notice that owning all Locations in its color group is an advantage as the rental price can be doubled if none of them are mortgaged. Also, the rent can be much higher if this location is improved with Improvements or Renovations.

Hello You or Love That Journey For Me

If the player lands on one of these spaces, he draws the top card from the indicated deck, then follows the instructions on the card, and returns the card face down to the bottom of the pile.

If the card is the Get Out of Jail Free one, you can keep it until you use it and then return the card to the bottom of the deck.

If you feel you do not want to use it, then you can make some money by selling it to another player at a price agreeable to both.

That’s Not A Write Off / Asbestos Fest Donation

If the player lands on one of these spaces, he has to pay the amount of money shown to the Bank.

Go To Jail

You have to move your token to the Jail if you land on this space. Notice that when you are sent to the Jail, you will not earn the 200 dollars salary if you need to pass the Go. Also, when you are sent to Jail, your turn ends, so pass the dice to the next player.

You can end up in Jail in other ways, such as drawing Hello You or Love That Journey For Me card that tells you to Go to Jail. Also, by rolling 3 doubles in a row on one turn. Even though you are in Jail, you may buy and sell properties and also collect rents.

How To Get Out Of Jail?

There are three ways to get out of Jail.

1- At the start of your next turn, you can pay 50 dollars, then roll and move as normal.

2- If you do have a Get Out of Jail Free card, you can use it to get out of the Jail; if you do not, you can buy one from another player. Place the card to the appropriate pile bottom, then roll and move.

3-Wait 3 turns, roll the dice on every turn; if you get a double, move out of Jail and around the board using this roll. However, on your third roll, if you do not get a double, 50 dollars must be paid to the Bank. After that, move the rolled number of spaces.

Sell Improvements/Renovations

You can sell Improvements and Renovations at half the listed price back to the Bank. You must sell them evenly in the same way you did buy them. Renovations are sold for half the listed price and exchanged immediately for four Improvements.

Mortgage Properties

If you do not have enough cash to pay your debt, you can mortgage any of your unimproved property. Players have to sell all Improvements/ Renovations on a color group to the Bank before mortgaging one of its Locations. you have to pay 10% and the listed value to the Bank if you want to repay the mortgage and turn the property card face up

Do A Deal

You can sell the unimproved property to other players or buy it from them. However, you must sell all Improvements/ Renovations on a color group to the Bank before you can sell one of its Locations.

You can trade your properties for any combination of other properties, cash, or free Get Out of Jail cards. It is all depending on the deal between the players.

You can sell the Mortgaged property to another player at an agreed price. If you buy a mortgaged property, you have to lift the mortgage by paying it off, or you can keep the card face down and just pay 10% of the listed value.

But if you decide later to repay the mortgage to the Bank, the 10% fee must be paid again. Notice that your goal is not just to get rich. To win, you must make every other player bankrupt.

Bankruptcy

If the player is debited to another player or to the Bank with money that exceeds what he already has, this player has to mortgage properties or sell Improvements and Renovations in order to raise the money.

If your debt is more than you have, you are Bankrupt and eliminated from the game. You will pay any cash you were able to collect. If the debt is to another player, he will get any Get Out of Jail Free cards and all your mortgaged properties.

The gamer has to pay 10% interest on every mortgaged property, even if he does not want to pay the mortgage off yet. However, all your mortgaged properties will be put up for auction, If your debt is to the Bank. Those properties will be sold face up (unmortgaged). Any Get Out of Jail Free cards will be returned to the bottom of the appropriate piles.
